Unfading history of Vigan City


 Throughout its history, Vigan is one of the Philippines' best preserved Spanish colonial towns, has undergone a dramatic transformation. During the Spanish colonial era, Vigan was a flourishing cultural and commercial hub as a municipality. It was a major center for trade and government because of its advantageous location along the Mestizo River. The town's historical significance is reflected in its well-planned layout, which includes small streets and a blend of Spanish-influenced and indigenous architecture. As the capital of Ilocos Sur at the time, Vigan was well-known for its rich history and distinctive character, which would help to define the town for decades to come.


Vigan, which combines its rich past with contemporary amenities, is now acknowledged as a highly urbanized city. The city's international significance was cemented in 1999 when it was formally designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, drawing visitors from all over the world. Vigan has preserved its Spanish-era buildings, including the famous Calle Crisologo, a cobblestone street dotted with ancestral homes, in spite of the modernization and tourist invasion. The town is a unique destination in the Philippines because of these historical landmarks, which also serve as a reminder of its past while boosting its economy through tourism.


Vigan has changed with the times as a city, enhancing local government and building out its infrastructure. The local populace now has more opportunities thanks to the growth of new businesses, better healthcare, and educational facilities. Nonetheless, the city's government is nonetheless dedicated to conserving its history, striking a balance between modernization and historic site preservation. Vigan has thrived while retaining its unique appeal thanks to this balance between the past and present, making it a shining example of historical preservation in the contemporary day.

Applying my knowledge through experiences

 This quarter, I have gained a lot of knowledge about the different types of html lists, such as nested lists, ordered lists, and unordered lists. I discovered that when conducting community-based research, we can use a variety of coding methods. Meanwhile, in programming, I discovered how to organize large data structures using nested lists, as well as how sorted and unordered lists assist arrange information efficiently in HTML and other forms.  However, I faced some challenges, especially in understanding how nested lists work and how to structure them in coding properly. At first, it was confusing to manage and ensure that the correct elements were accessed properly.  In order to get over this, I watch online tutorials and practice creating nested lists using code activities.   First of all, lam the Just simple girl who lives from the barangay Paing Bantay Ilocos Sur. I was born normally in RHU Bantay and having a fun/happy family. We are four in our family. I have my only one sister that I can bond with whatever place and time I want. Of course, I also have my loving and supporting parents who are living happily together for so many years.
