Image
The 123rd High School Day Celebration at Ilocos Sur National High School was a lively and memorable event that brought together students, instructors, and staff to commemorate the school's long history and achievements. In the days preceding the event, kids of various grade levels worked tirelessly to prepare spectacular dance routines. Each grade took turns on the school field, and their routines exhibited creativity, precision, and excitement. The performances captivated the crowd, and their cheers and applause reflected their admiration and support. The excitement only rose as the Battle of the Bands, which followed the field demo, injected new energy into the proceedings. Bands stole the show with powerful voices, stun...

A heart full of Love

Image
Every year on February 14th, Valentine's Day is a unique occasion honoring the love and affection shared by romantic partners, family members, and friends. Its roots can be found in the story of Saint Valentine, a Roman priest who secretly married couples in defiance of an emperor's edict. As time went on, the holiday changed to become a day to show love with thoughtful presents, words, and unique actions. Valentine's Day is widely observed around the world as a celebration of love, gratitude, and the close bonds that bind people to one another. For me, Valentine's Day is an ideal time to express how much we value our loved ones, friends, partner, and family. It's more than simply romantic love; it's also about appreciating friendship and spreading goodwill. During a hectic school schedule, it serves as a reminder to appreciate those who support us.  Depending on one's personality and love language, there are numerous ways to show affection. Some people li...

A Key to Successful Research Team

Image
In the computer lab, our team is assembling to discuss the Community-Based Research (CBR) project's plans. Due to the absence of two of our members on that particular day, we had only chosen who would be in charge of each section of the CBR. We also have a similar image from the initial planning phase, where our team is discussing and ensuring that everything is set up before beginning the project by speaking with the members who were present in person and communicating with the members who weren't that day via Messenger.  In a vibrant and cooperative environment, our team members are actively working on the project, interacting with one another, and applying our research.  This last picture is our group leader and their barangay captain, where rein is gathering essential information for our research.

Applying my knowledge through experiences

Image
This quarter, I have gained a lot of knowledge about the different types of html lists, such as nested lists, ordered lists, and unordered lists. I discovered that when conducting community-based research, we can use a variety of coding methods. Meanwhile, in programming, I discovered how to organize large data structures using nested lists, as well as how sorted and unordered lists assist arrange information efficiently in HTML and other forms.  However, I faced some challenges, especially in understanding how nested lists work and how to structure them in coding properly. At first, it was confusing to manage and ensure that the correct elements were accessed properly.  In order to get over this, I watch online tutorials and practice creating nested lists using code activities. When I applied the concepts I had learned to real-world scenarios, my comprehension of them improved.  Moving forward, I will keep enhancing my coding abilities by investigating more practic...

A combination of tradition and festivity

The celebration of Chinese New Year in the Philippines has become an integral part of our Filipino culture. This practice reflects the country's deep historical and cultural traditions. The reasons behind the celebration of Chinese New Year in the Philippines are encompassing the historical relationships, the shared value of family and the community.  The Philippines observed Chinese New Year as a unique non-working holiday, which provided the chance to enjoy the celebration. This became possible because of the Proclamation declared by President Benigno S. Aquino III, stating that this "is a manifestation of our solidarity with our Chinese-Filipino brethren who have been part of our lives in many respects as a country and as a people." The roots of the Filipino observance of Chinese New Year can be traced back to the long history of Chinese migration to the Philippines. The Chinese-Filipino, or Tsinoy, community grew steadily contributing to the development of Philippine...

Throughout its history, Vigan is one of the Philippines' best preserved Spanish colonial towns, has undergone a dramatic transformation. During the Spanish colonial era, Vigan was a flourishing cultural and commercial hub as a municipality. It was a major center for trade and government because of its advantageous location along the Mestizo River. The town's historical significance is reflected in its well-planned layout, which includes small streets and a blend of Spanish-influenced and indigenous architecture. As the capital of Ilocos Sur at the time, Vigan was well-known for its rich history and distinctive character, which would help to define the town for decades to come. Vigan, which combines its rich past with contemporary amenities, is now acknowledged as a highly urbanized city.
